Jacob & Co. Astronomia Solar Bitcoin is a horological monument to cryptocurrency
With currency symbols, flying tourbillon and moon rocket.
The Jacob & Co Limited Edition Astronomia Solar Bitcoin is a horological monument to cryptocurrency.
Based on Jacob & Co.'s smallest Astronomia movement, the JCAM19, the case has a relatively small diameter of just 44mm, thanks to the shrinking effect of the titanium frame's all-black DLC coating.
The watch is described as a symbolic tribute to "the world of cryptocurrencies and its pioneering and leading example, Bitcoin."
Enriched with symbols from the Web 3.0 realm, this watch features a spinning bitcoin currency symbol and a tiny black rocket ship with a burning reactor, apparently destined to "go to the moon," in this case, made of a 1-carat spherical Jacob-cut diamonds represent the sun. A spherical yellow sapphire represents the sun, which is opposite the flying tourbillon, while the geocentric layout places the black and gold globe in the center of the dial.
The elements are all mounted on a three-armed platform that rotates around the dial in 10 minutes, while the rotating "microchip-designed motherboard" backdrop rotates in the opposite direction every 11 minutes.
